Zanetti calls for calm

Inter skipper Javier Zanetti has assured fans the Neraazzurri are not on a slump after their goalless draw at Fiorentina.
The result meant that Inter have picked up two points after two consecutive goalless draw. The defending champions currently lie in fourth place.

Zanetti is not worried about their recent lacklustre performance. Instead, the Argentine managed to draw some positives from their tepid display against Fiorentina.

“We had our chances,” Zanetti told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “But here in Florence it is always tough.”

“Meanwhile, we have conceded very little, and in any case, be calm. The championship is still very long. Everyone at Inter walks in the same direction,” he added, even though strikers Adriano and Julio Cruz were dropped by coach Jose Mourinho for not making an effort during training.

Defender Douglas Maicon however, delievered a decidedly frank assessment of the 0-0 with Fiorentina.

“We have to do better in Reggio Calabria on Saturday,” explained the Brazilian

The last time Inter registered back to back goalless results was in 2003.
