Meal for life

I said it already. I will not take back what I had said and simply because I can’t. Whether I like it or not I had to accept it, for the best or the worst that’s the best I can do.

As we are getting nearer to the middle of Ramadhan, I have to said it. I love “berbukak puasa”.Although far from home and not having the best meal (Kelantan have the best dishes, “kuih-muih”,anyone want to argue?) still I have to admit that the experience breakfasting here kinda a fun one.4 yours ago I had experienced breakfasting in Perak for 3 years and much less the same here in KL. Well, the feeling of breakfasting at hometown is still the best but for some reason we have to enjoy ourselves right.

So what are the things you least expected to breakfasting with? We already know that dates and water are the most common and are a must when breakfasting. The others are like rice, sweet “kuih-muih” and maybe some people can’t break fasting without “ayam percik” or “ayam golek”. For the smokers obviously cigarette come first and evens some people breakfasting just by smoking. I listed down some of the things that some people did but not that common to break fasting with others (One things it is because some of these are expensive and not our culture taste, western).

· McDonald Burger

· Burger King

· Dunkin Donut

· Big Apple

· Secret Recipe cake

· Pizza Hut

· Carl’s Junior

· Kenny Rogers

p/s. Kurma Ajmal is very delicious and because of akulturation, we can see now many kinds of dishes sold at bazaar ramadhan from India,Chinese, Indonesia, USA and hopefully not Vietnam (read about Vietnamese people and you will understand this). I really miss “kek batik”. Hope can find somewhere.

Free from blackness

Independence day celebration is just around the corner. It’s been 52 years our beloved country celebrated independence and our country had achieve a lot since then. This time around since the independence fall on Ramadhan time so I bet there will be not many concerts or socialize party organized in KL or anywhere else but then, it’s just my predictions, other races might as well did it.
Talking about independence, what has we, as the children of the post independence know about the value of freedom? Freedom means free from any colonization if that what it means from the past but nowadays out culture are so much been conquered by other races, culture. Our country fills with “PATI”. Anywhere we walk we can see many faces and sometimes I wonder, am I the foreigner here?Yeah2 I know the globalization means that you have to accept the windows of the world into your world but then if the newcomers come and made a hell out my country so what it is going to be? It’s ok for them to work here and made a decent earning with living peacefully with the locals but the main problem is the one that cause the social problem. What we saw in newspaper and news are just the tips of the reports and I’m pretty sure there are many more cases of robbery, thief, snatch, rape, murder involving these ‘type’ of people. Mastika (August Edition) had some stories of how the Negro affecting our life here in Malaysia. Sometimes I wonder, how can they come here? With so many of them? And the usual stories that link with Negro are theft, “pukau”, money counterfeit, rape (which was at first called love).i like to gather some info from all of you about the last one. We see and find this thing in KL right? We can see a nice lovely Malay girls walking along MidValley, hold hand with some Black tall guy. I still wonder why on earth that these ladies picked and fall in love with the Negro? I means they are Christian (some might be Muslim), Black( if you want to choose black, it’s better to choose the Indian) and not handsome ( Malays are so hotter than them)? Why and How? And if their love story end with happy ending good for them but the problem is the ending just like in the 999 (tv3 program). The Negro slept with the girl and then he dumped her and to make matter worse, the girl pregnant and the child with the DNA of Negro was born. So who’s to blame here? The Negro of course, but the girls too.
What makes Negro or (in the whole) the foreigners better than the locals? I can stand Malays girls couple with Indians or Chinese as long as same Religion (I mean Islam of course), but I can’t stand if Malays or Chinese or Indians couple with foreigner. It’s like the man from our country had extinct that force them to find foreigner. The same usual lame reasons for these girls to find Negro or “Mat Salleh” are romantic, caring, loving and obviously richer. I would say it is bullshit. The story had been always having the same ending.
This is also one type of colonization and proofs that we, Malaysians still not fully achieve Independence. We always value the outside goods higher than our own local goods without ever considering the quality first. The value of Independence means nothing if just some people say aloud “Merdeka” each year and put on the flag on the car, house or office. The values of independence should come within the heart of every Malaysian and together we care and cherish this gift for the good of the future.
Happy Independence Day!
p/s – My car might not have the flag of Malaysian but in my heart, the love of this country, none can compared with. Well, I shall put on the flag afterwards. Hope all of you did the same things. The first is Islam and the second is Malaysia and I do mean “Malay-sia”.

Semangat bahasa Melayu

Colors InDifference

Just sit back, read and think.(it ’s gonna be a long one and hopefully give some food for the thought)

Ethnocentrism and racism, two words that may give close meaning but not quite the same one. The focus meaning of ethnocentrism is that judging other ethnics are less superior and only one ethnic is powerful or superior to others. Racism in other word is the prejudice towards others race. Ethnic and race bring different meaning in our world. There are many races and ethnics and none is superior to the other.

For example, racism is strong in USA, where the Black (afro American) and the white hate each other for decades. Aryan brotherhood is an example of ethnocentrism where they hate others ethnic and only see theirs is the best. The Zionist(Israel) who had been destroying Palestine for the land of so called the chosen race in this earth. So I hope this brief example can give some overview about the definition of these two words.

Why I brought this? We all acknowledge that we live in a country where there are many races and ethnics live together. In 13 May 1969 , our country had seen the conflict between races (Malay and Chinese) and I can’t say that the factor to that miserable bloodshed was ethnocentrism(because I did not live in that era yet) but from what I heard, learn and read , maybe just maybe one of the factor contributing to that was ethnocentrism.

From that day and beyond, our country had seen a lot of changes in hope to mend the broken relationship and some steps had already bear the fruit. Still, racism exists in our community today. Although the level is not that alarming but if we all don’t do something about it, in the future, we gap will be wider and when that happen, only God knows what will the consequences will be. The Malay are still skeptical with Chinese. I based this not rely solely on my mind but we all can see around us. Read the newspaper. The Chinese too still have some negative feeling toward Malays.Yes, maybe some people might argue that this is all about political but if the hands that manipulate this issues carelessly might turn ugly. Why the skeptical still exist?
I did not have so much experience on this matter as I came from a state where the population of Chinese and Indian still low compared to others. I came from a strong community of Malay where Malays strong in every corner. Still, I can see that almost all the big business are owned by the Chinese. The Chinese as we all know conquered the business sector in this country and that’s why if graduate students to have more chances to get into employment it is better to have extra language such as Mandarin so that they can work with the Chinese. Why I said that racism still exist(although not that strong)?

For example, did you see many Chinese people work in the government sector or the police or army? You can count them if any. Why? Maybe the Chinese might said that they prefer to work in business area or some other factor. But one factor that we can’t neglect is that maybe, because in the government sector there are many Malays, the Malays people didn’t want other races to join them. i just speculate on this or maybe other races felt that they can get along if they join the government sector. The same goes in the business industry. Lets’ walk into Plaza Low Yatt and count how many Malays become traders there. There same situation happen. Why it is hard to mix around other races? I too did not mix well with other races and yes, I admit I still skeptical about other races. One factor maybe because of religion but if we think deeply, no religion banned their followers to hate other religions not to say races right?

So what about ethnocentrism? It is exist in whether it is small or not. Kelantanese were branded as ‘bekeng’ , ‘garang’, ‘gedebe’. Some are like that but not all. I admit Kelantanese were very proud of their heritage and land. We might sound ‘gedebe’ at some point but that’s just because of the way we talk and the upbringing. We have to admit that Kelantanese were hardworking and likes to travel. We can found Kelantanese almost everywhere in Malaysia. Hell, in this university there are many students come from there.

How we cope with this? It’s all about education. This goes with the concept of ‘Satu Malaysia’. We have to learn to accept and tolerate with each other but the steps to achieve it gonna be a long and hard. It’s not something we can achieve in a matter of second. These steps taken by the government had to understand by all people. The concept of ‘bangsa Malaysia’ and ‘masyarakat Malaysia’ might sound the same but it is not. The basic one is that we have to think and refer to our religions. Islam said we had to accept other and respect other religions and races as God creates many races with many kinds in this world. The world had gone smaller and smaller each day. Globalization is just one steps outside our doors. If we can’t settle some serious issues within our own community how’re we going to face bigger issues regarding globalization?

In the end, one have to stop and ponder, is it our perception correct? Is it what our mind perceived right with ethics and moral? I’m just saying this from what I read, see, learn and hear. Others might argue with me. Others might agree with me. Whatever the thought, let’s hope our country did not turn out to be like USA where they are divided almost in everything.

The Green Monster

I was so bored this few days and to cope with that I read again the planet hulk saga and world war hulk. For those who loved Marvel comic, I highly suggested you read these two comics.

It was about the incredible Hulk. Yes, the green monster. The comics was full in colors, out of this world and fill with love, friendship, adventure, revenge, hated and destructions. The Hulk as I know of is the alter ego of Bruce Banner and his power will get even stronger if he get madder. As the comics said, the madder the hulk becomes the stronger he will. In this comic you will get to see the Hulk battle the earth and even universe most powerful superheroes such as Spiderman, Ironman, Fantastic Four, Black Bolt, Iron Fist, Ms Marvel, Hercules and so much more but in the end none of them could match the power that The Hulk has.

Except for the Sentry. The Sentry is just like the Hulk, he is the alter ego of Robert Reynolds and his power is based on the exploding sun. You can just imagine that. The Sentry is agoraphobic whereas he is terrified of his own power and never unleashed much of his power up until his battle with the hulk at the end of the comic. In the end, it was the Hulk himself who allowed Stark aka Ironman to fire the laser from the satellite onto Hulk and finally the Hulk turned into Bruce Banner. There are many phrases in World War Hulk comic that I like such as, the one that the Hulk said before the laser hit him was “ I hate all of you almost as much as I hate myself”. Everyone in that comic try to help Hulk as they know the Hulk had clouded his mind with so much hate and angered that eventually he sees nothing except for destruction. Well, there you have it, some stories about the Hulk and Marvel comic. For those who also have some love toward the DC Comics, I would suggest you read the Kingdom Come, Infinite Crisis on planet Earth and Salvation Run.

Well, I have to list down 10 comic characters that I love the most and how about you guys? Which comic characters you love the most? (From DC and Marvel Comics. Generally from USA)
• Batman
• Superman
• Spiderman
• Captain America
• Venom
• Magneto
• The Hulk
• Wolverine
• Daredevil
• Silver Surfer

Oh yes, I had watched GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra and as the film went, in my opinion it did just good as it was predicted it would be. The film filled with actions and high tech gadgets and war. It seems that this movie just likes an introductions platform to the main characters of the Joes and Cobra and we could be expecting the sequel of GI Joe soon. The sequel of this one will promise a lot more actions and perhaps they can introduce or added more Cobra villains into that one and I can’t wait to watch that. For that, I give GI Joe 4 stars out of 5.

p/s . Got pissed off with PTPTN and tired of sleeping. It’s been ages since I played outdoor sports. Really need to get sweat.

Taking Transformers into Public Enemies

The title is not a reality just a fantasy and not that I hate transformers in fact I love it. Okay, so far I had watched 3 most acclaimed movies (Transformers, Public Enemies and Taking Pelham 123) for this summer and I can recall that I also had watched Terminator Salvation and Star Trek.

In my opinion, the best movie so far (to this current date) would be Terminator Salvation. I rated this movie just higher than Transformers simply because Jon O’ Connor (played Christian Bale) was superb and the movie storyline was exciting from the beginning until the end. Bale really played his role as the leader of humankind battling with robots marvelously emotionally and physically bet all men after watched this movie want to be like him and girls want to be with him. I would give this movie 5 star out of 5.

Transformer: Revenge of the Fallen is another most waited movie this summer but all the hype and buzz is not what I was expected still the movie attract large crowd. One of the flaws that I can see from the movie is that there are too much battle between Optimus Prime with the Decepticons and sometimes neglecting others Autobots. In this movie the Decepticons had summons their robots from outer space into earth but we can just see a glimpse of them throughout entire movie. I can conclude that this movie was 4.5 from 5 stars.

Public Enemies – Hmm..What can I say about this adapted old movie? It’s a little bit boring and too much talking and the only main attraction for this movie were Johnny Depp (played the main character) and Christian Bale. Without these 2 the movie will be another failed one. 3 from 5

Taking Pelham 123 – I expected higher performance for the two lead actor in this one (Travolta and Denzel Washington) but then the ending just as predicted. I was expecting there will be some twist but none happen. 3 from 5

So I recommend Terminator and trust me you will never get bored watch this movie again and again. I’m planning to watch G.I Joe: Rise of the Cobra in next few days and I’m hoping the movie will full of action and heart stopping storyline.

The Best Movie of 2009 (until 8 August )—Just in my opinion

1. Terminator Salvation

2. Transformers : Revenge of the fallen

3. Star Trek

4. Wolverine

5. Night at the museum 2 : Battle of Smithsonian

6. Public Enemies

7. Taking Pelham 123

8. Ice age 3 : Dawn Of the dinasours

p/s – I just heard that because of the H1N1 outbreak, maybe UPM will be closed again if there is any new cases. The situation is just getting worse and because of the last week early midterm holiday, this university is in havoc with all people changing the timetable and adding with the convocation around the corner. Hopefully the outbreak will not become bigger in the future. I have a new mission which is memorizing the road in KL and so that I will not get lost with WDJ.

Tired?

So, what is the meaning of tired actually? When we looked up the dictionary, it might as well describe the meaning of tired as exhausted or something like that "Fatigue (medical), a feeling of exhaustion"(taken from wikipedia).

So what is your definition of tired.i guess everyone got tired of something almost everyday.

Me? i got tired almost everything. What the heck am i saying? well i'm just a piece of crap who got tired of this world but too damn afraid to go to the next world but i mean who doesn't right? Let me give a bunch of list the things that i got really sicken tired of.

  • i got tired of listening to the cruelty to the Palestine by the evil zionis Israel.Who doesn't get tired of this one should check their heart and see does they still have heart.Just look, how many people (children and women) died by the hands of these people (Israelis)?how much damage that they have done to this world, manipulating and control the people as they like for their purpose only.yes, i got no power to stop them so i jsut can pray to God to put them in the deepest place in hell in the hereafter.

  • i got tired of all these crime in this country. What had Malaysia become? We are no more feel safe when walking at night alone even i afraid to walk half past 12 at night in the town or city.We heard everyday there are some murder here and there, we heard some raping happened. We heard some car or money got robbed or stolen.Man o man,What are the solutions for these? i can't think of one that can stop all at once because in every man heart there are devils inside them.

  • i got tired of the mosquitoes. From UDM to the new K12.i mean, why can't these insects leave me alone?i got to have some check with the people who mastered with this kind of insects.

  • i got tired of driving.is just that i got tired with the attitude of Malaysian driver.need any more explanations on this?We all experienced it already. We all read it somewhere and we might even had seen it.

  • i got tired of studying. Look, i had my SPM a long time ago and still i got to study some more. What in the world is this? For those who know me,you all can calculate how many years had i studied.Am i a dumb or fool or something in between that?Nope.i know i am not a fool and people know that so what the heck am i studying for?

  • i got tired of reading this blog.Who with please raise up your hand
  • and i got tired of writing this post so i better stop now, go to bed,get some rest and wake up early tomorrow morning.Damn, what had i mumbling all this long.Seriously got tired of this.
